@designwith_kay: Today, I studied the structure, hierarchy, and usability of one of Nigeria's most popular fintech apps, OPay. To put what I learned into practice, I designed a lookalike version while maintaining the overall layout. I couldn't find the exact icons and logo, so I created my own versions instead... One usability issue I noticed was in the OPay-to-OPay Transfer section. As a user, it's frustrating that there's no search icon. If I can't immediately find a recent recipient, I either have to type the phone/account number again or scroll through the entire list. In my redesign, I moved the search icon to the top to make finding recipients faster and more intuitive. Hopefully, OPay considers a similar improvement in a future update. The goal wasn't to replicate the product, but to understand how visual systems, spacing, hierarchy, and iconography come together to create a seamless user experience.
