But healing doesn’t only come from tracking what activates us. It also comes from training the nervous system to recognize safety. That’s where glimmers come in. A glimmer is a small moment of safety, warmth, goodness or presence: ☀️ the sun on your skin ☕ the taste of your coffee 💬 a meaningful text 🌿 a quiet moment of ease 🎨 a burst of creativity The practice: At the end of each day, write down one glimmer. Big or small. Over time, this trains your nervous system to notice safety again, not because you’re forcing positivity, but because safety is a skill. This changed my brain.
