George Mack first encountered the idea of "high agency" around 2016, after hearing Eric Weinstein discuss it on Tim Ferriss's podcast. In his first big thread on it, posted November 29, 2018, he wrote that he'd been thinking about the concept every week for the previous two years. From there he kept returning to it publicly, writing threads and newsletter pieces on high agency across the following years (2021, 2023, and on). So the idea marinated in public for years. The polished long-form piece, "High Agency in 30 Minutes," took him seven months to actually write, and he launched it on March 24, 2025.
