France were poor tonight, but the biggest issue wasn't just the attack it was the midfield battle. Spain controlled the tempo, possession, and spaces between the lines, making France look disconnected. Kanté's experience and ball-winning ability could have helped from the start, while Dembélé's explosiveness or Olise's creativity may have been more effective as impact substitutes.
The second goal also exposed defensive issues, and France clearly missed Saliba's presence after his injury. Without him, the back line looked less organized and less dominant in duels.
For me, France's priority isn't the attack it's strengthening the midfield. When France control the midfield, Mbappé, Dembélé, and the forwards become far more dangerous. Fix the midfield, and the entire team improves instantly. Spain won because they controlled the game better tactically and technically, not just because France played badly.
