I got double depression before I got bipolar and I also got major depressive disorder before the bipolar. Survived for almost 10y here since teenager 💪🏻 also while fighting with my cronic kidney disease

I am so sorry for everyone struggling in these comments. Please know life is and will be so beautiful. I was diagnosed and started medication over ten years ago and I once thought it would be awful forever. Now the only way it affects my life is taking some pills before bed :)

It really feels as if your entire identity—the foundation on which you built all your beliefs, values, and principles—collapsed the moment the first symptoms appeared. At first, they seem to come out of nowhere, almost impossible to notice. But once they fully develop, it feels as though everything changed in the blink of an eye, as if it all happened with a single snap of the fingers…

Has anyone just always been this way even since they were little? I was an angry miserable little kid. I was “the problem child” because I was always stubborn and threw tantrums. I grew up that way and getting diagnosed with bipolar 2 almost felt relieving because I finally had an answer. Not a good answer but an answer
