No officer, Sheriffโs Deputy or Police, will ever call for warrants, subpoenas, nothing. A detective will call in regards to an active case but usually only asking you to come in for questions, but NEVER for anything else. They will never ask you for personal information over the phone as well.

do not just check the number on google. it is literally so easy to spoof numbers these days. look up the number, hang up, and then dial the number YOURSELF to call and check. this should not have gotten as far as it did

my ex did thia and used the name of a cop that arrested him for dui so i hung up googled the real.cops number and my ex was charged with impersonation

Iโm in Colorado and this happened to me too!! Except they told me it was because I missed jury duty but almost all the other details are the same. They also told I canโt tell anyone about the case because of HIPAA which was my first red flag ๐คจ they had me going for like 30 minutes until I finally just hung up on them because they were asking me about Apple Pay and Zelle

Saying it again in case anyone missed it: THE POLICE WILL NEVER CALL YOU AND ASK YOU TO COME IN. If there is a warrant for your arrest, they will show up and arrest you. They will NEVER call you. Itโs always a scam.
