The word "gods" in that context (Ex 22:28) derived from Hebrew roots ĕlôhı̂ym which in plural form means Divine ones, rulers,judges , So the key point is that the Hebrew word אֱלֹהִים does not automatically mean "lesser gods." In Exodus 22:28, there is substantial lexical and contextual evidence that it can refer to judges, rulers, or human authorities acting under God's authority, which is exactly one of the recognized meanings listed in BDB. Whether one prefers "God" or "judges" in this specific verse depends on the interpretive approach, but the word itself does not require the meaning "lesser gods."

IT IS NOT TRUE. Don’t misunderstand to misinterpret the scripture wrongly. YOU NEED TO BE THOUGHT YOURSELF. The gods in that scripture is not referring to the gods as of idol. It is referring to the chosen people that God Himself made gods over the people. We as humans are gods. Jesus said this was written in the law. Which law? The Ex 7:1 I gave you above.Even the Psalmist said👉🏾 Psalms 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. We are gods and being gods we are the children of the most high(God). It is not about those other things referred to as gods. It is about us.
