something people don't realize is, Izuku was incredibly selfish. sure he saved people, but a lot of the time he did it to prove something to himself. to say he's a hero with a quirk he wanted his whole life. it was less about other people and more about himself. that's why he was so willing to break himself for what he wanted no matter how other people felt. when he finally decided to use his legs instead of his arms, and find ways to use his quirk that weren't as self destructive, that was a start. when he finally decided to give up OFA (because he could've not listened to the vestiges and tried another way), it showed that he went from selfish, to selfless. because truly, that may have been in the moment one of the hardest things he had to do at that age. right next to killing shigaraki (or killing the body that was once shigaraki) in order to free him. that was when izuku midoriya truly became selfless. i literally love him i can’t

I runned a half marathon but I injured my foot two weeks earlier, I thought I wasn’t gonna be able to run the race I prepared months for but when I was on the starting line I just thought how Izuku never gave up, even when he was hurt and tired, so I gave it my all and was able to cross the finish line, people make fun of anime but they never realize how much on an impact their characters have on real people
