Dont need a time machine to go there. The willingness to want to be with Jesus and suffer with him and to give him relief is very beautiful and it is a gift from Jesus, to want this.

If we were to go back and stop him, we would be destrying his way of showing his love for us, his goal hes had all his life of being born in mortal years. The best way of preventing all this from happening is going back in time and guarding the tree that bared the cursed fruit, but even then human kinds curiosity would’ve driven for someone to eat the fruit at a certain period of time whether it was just delayed, but the outcome of sin fallen over man was inevitable to begin with so no matter how far you go back in time you’ll never be able to change what was destined to be done
