@nialui21: I hear SO often that the reason someone doesn’t go to church is because they feel judged for not being the perfect member. And I totally understand that. I’ve been there. But at the end of the day it is our responsibility to be in charge of our feelings. I had to work really hard to get out of the victim mindset. I’m not saying that religious trauma doesn’t exist or that experiences with judgmental people aren’t really hard and damaging. What I am saying is that there will always be those people. The people who judge and make you feel bad. But for the most part people are good. It is up to us to be the good people and welcome everyone. And it’s also up to us to not let others’ opinions or perceived opinions prevent us from going to church or strengthening our relationship with God. #lds #churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #churchlife #judgmentalpeople #ldsculture
I was a member for eight years. Saw the light and got out. Looking back it’s interesting how many members refer to other members as “Righteous”. Definitely not a realistic or biblical look on people.

I think that toxic perfectionist is stupid and damaging. We ALL and faults and struggles because we are mortal. It shouldn’t be encouraged but let’s be real.
