Your suggested descriptions may confuse a hairdresser because those definitions are kind of buzz wordy/made up. Something all hairdressers should know though is Convex layers and Concave layers. Your definition of “connected” is really convex and then “long layers” are actually concave. And if the stylist doesn’t know the difference between convex and concave, find someone else who does! It is haircutting 101 and is part of the first core things we learn in cosmo school!

Wait, why should we be saying no to thinning sheers? I have SO MUCH hair that takes forever to blow dry and gives me a headache if I wear it up for too long. I’ve always let them thin it out. Is it doing something bad? I don’t know much about this stuff
