i feel like the point was that we didnt know anything about her ? makima killing all of the island just to see angel’s power wasn’t that necessary. the way i interpret it is its a way of showing colonization, how it erases/kills natives and their culture (although we’re not sure what island this tribe lived on). we never got to learn anything because makima didn’t let us.
