Everyone defending him in the comments doesn't understand competition/respect. He cheated a run and lied about it for years. He used an illegal mod to get an advantage that wasn't allowed. What's the difference between this and modding to 255 and beating the round and claiming that as the record? If it was called a spliced run or a TAS from the start, it wouldn't have been that bad but he played it off as a straight run and submitted it against others playing real runs. Using these "save states" is like claiming a biking race record, but only timing after a car drags you to full speed. This was a tool assisted run and never should have been up against other attempts that weren't. Playing around the bad code and other limitations is what's agreed upon by the community and cheating your way around it is playing by your own rules, not what's agreed upon.

it’s irritating seeing these new gen comments about how what tom done was okay. a big part of records is literally just crashing. most high round games are speedruns at their core. people don’t play zombies yet leave these ignorant responses

Personally I’d like to say it isn’t cheated. He didn’t remove downs or restart the game if he died. All he did was reset the box error. He still played all of those rounds without dying

no it's not the cap you can get higher then 255 it's just super hard got to knife kill a lot of them and use grenades really really good meaning getting damage on as many of them as possible and knife kill crawlers I'm not sure why I errored but I was on 256 going to 257 when it reset I did use the gobblegum alchemist the one that gives ammo maybe that's why I didn't get the error
