He was not the only black kid on the island. My son was hanging out with at least three of is his black friends on that same island on that same day. We were there as a family and I saw black people, white people, Latino people, Indian people, etc….

I live on the coast and go to Horn island frequently. While at Horn island we leave our phones in the boat so we don’t drop them in the water- it’s too humid to take pictures most of the time, it gets too hot to leave them sitting out. If we do get them out we take a picture and put them back in the “glove box” on the boat. I’m on call 24/7 with my job and can only go out there if I make prior arrangements because you can rarely get a signal or a decent signal. So for me, the phone is non issue. It’s normal to not have your phone out there. The kids probably left not thinking about his phone being on the boat. I can tell you from experience- no one is thinking about their phones out there.

First of all... my condolences to this family!!! may God bring you some peace. FACTS: 1. They went to the Island together. 2. Possibly left phone on the boat (you tread to the Island) 3. The decision was to leave and the boat was taking on water and supposedly he made a decision to catch a ride back later with another boat.... for someone who doesn't swim this might make sense! 4. Something went down AFTER his friends left!! we just have to give them some time to investigate.
