I used to work for an orchestra and I always felt so bad whenever I saw people who were clearly first timers at a concert coming dressed to the nines (tuxedos and elegant dresses), and seeing the disappointment and embarrassment on their faces when others were not dressed up. I am sad that the concept of dressing up for the orchestra is now just an ancient myth

My teenage son had to go to traffic court today and I advised him to wear a button up and khakis. He came home and said he was over dressed. No you weren’t, everyone else was was dressed inappropriately for court.
