notice how that in Tagalog, there is no definite translation for She/Her or He/Him? In Tagalog, people are always addressed as "They" you can not tell if that person is a woman or a man because genders did not really matter back then. (saw on a theory)

Well, they weren't allowed to be datus, Rajahs or lakans. Those titles are only for men. Because, during the pre-colonial era women had different roles. They were the babaylans and healers of the barangay. They also have a say in the household and have a choice on whether to have more children. It all changed when the Philippines was influenced by the Catholic church.
