notice how that in Tagalog, there is no definite translation for She/Her or He/Him? In Tagalog, people are always addressed as "They" you can not tell if that person is a woman or a man because genders did not really matter back then. (saw on a theory)

Fun fact! They were chocked to see filipinos wearing gold everywhere no matter the status in life. They even use it to decorate their teeth for fashion

+ native filipino men don't see naked women lustful or anything, it's the Spanish colonizers who influenced them to think otherwise

Well, they weren't allowed to be datus, Rajahs or lakans. Those titles are only for men. Because, during the pre-colonial era women had different roles. They were the babaylans and healers of the barangay. They also have a say in the household and have a choice on whether to have more children. It all changed when the Philippines was influenced by the Catholic church.

this why tagalog has no pronounce didicated to certain gender, we only use sya and ikaw... pre-colonial filipino people respects everyone and don't measure someone's strength based on the gender 𐦍༘

another addition is that men usually offered money land or other stuff for our hand in marriage and if men wants something similar to a divorce the dowry that was given would still belong to his wife
