Deadass something like this happened in Iraq, m3 Bradley was driving in a convoy it was hit 4 times by ieds the third time the gunner and commander hopped into different vehicles leaving the rookie driver to drive the Bradley by himself he drove over a 4th ied which knocked him out, after the rest of the convoy didn’t hear from him on the radio (4th ied also knocked out all communications and gps) left him there as they assumed he was dead he woke up all alone bleeding from the head and wondering what he was doing in a Bradly all by himself he drove up and down the road until he found friendly forces

The driver dismounts, and notices the Fuel tanker is still where it was parked, and the dfac tent is still there. Inside the tent, food is still hot, and steaming. Plates on tables with half eaten meals, and the coffee pot is still warm.

At NTC our track fell off and sheered the sprocket off. We were stranded the whole time without any comms and hoped recovery would pull up on us but they later told us they were tracking our location while the whole company just kept moving forward. They came back after a couple days after we were black on water 😂

The TC, still sitting in his hatch, watches the dismounted driver, go from building to building, tent to tent, collecting anything that can be used, food, bottled water. Taking one of the bottles, you roll it over in your hand examining it.. the “Best used by:” date… is 06-04-1944. There is a strong acrid smell of ozone in the air, and your arm hair stand on end.
