You never need a badge. Dress business casual, gold a clipboard, walk with a purpose, and follow just behind a group and someone will hold the door and not ask questions. I've been weirdly fascinated by "employee only" areas since i was a kid.

I have a “loaner” key card that was given to me over a year ago because I forgot mine at home. I keep it in my car in case I (or any of my work friends) forget theirs again (don’t tell management)
