Growing up in Saudi Arabia (which popularized this school of thought in modern times) during the early 2000’s and having to grit my teeth through being a niqabi at age 12 while I and many of the children, girls AND boys, around me had a story about being touched by a family member is truly my personal flavor of hell 😵‍💫 truly a degenerate, bleak existence. Nothing “holy” about it. the fact that this poisonous belief system escaped containment and spread across the globe makes me so unbelievably depressed. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to heal or find solace in my situation with anyone outside of the friends I grew up alongside. No one believes the horrors we’ve experienced because of the government’s reputation laundering, so most ppl end up thinking the poison was spread outwards while things remained relatively “secular” here (bs)

it really depends on how you follow it, personally I was a salafi back in 2020 as in the separate "sect" but now I'm still salafi as in following the Quran and sunnah. I don't think the path is bad, it's just that some people don't understand it
