They told him they will have an ambulance there. He took him right to the police department and they exported him into the jail. There was no ambulance nowhere.

This stuff has to stop, if we started holding these officers accountable and they not only lost their jobs but went to jail then they wouldn't feel comfortable treating people like this.

this was absolutely horrible. those police vans have no safety belts? the suspect is in handcuffs behind his back. he had no way to protect himself from that fall. then the police made the biggest mistake and forced him to move. the man is now paralyzed from the neck down. how is this ok. I dobr believe this was a recent event and I don't remember if the officers were held accountable.

This happened in 2022. In 2023 three officers had charges dismissed, 2 more plead guilty to misdemeanor charges. All of Mr Cox's charges were dismissed as he wasn't who they were looking for. Mr Cox and the city of New Haven agreed to a settlement of $45 million. There were no seat belts in the van. The event resulted in a statewide requirement for seat belts and their use for prisoners.
