tbh lifting heavy is actually really good for hypermobility, obviously the focus should be on stability and good form, using resistance bands and do isometrics are great but personally i’ve seen a huge improvement with joint pain and instability

I’m hypermobile and I lift heavy in the gym. Since increasing my strength all over it’s massively helped me tbh.

The only ting that supports our ligaments is the muscles. If you are hypermobile you SHOULD absolutly train strenght, especially the core and bigger musclegroups. More weight, but less reps to not stretch our ligaments. BUT: as hypermobile we often have to do excercises different than "normal" people. Being aware of what hurts more and not overstretch, and doing the sets right will absolutly have benefits for us. ✨ I have hypermobile Ehler Danlos, and i learned this on rehabilitysenters specialised on EDS.

everyone in the comments and their mom saying they lift heavy ??? it feels like i’m being torn apart whenever i lift something heavy even occasionally, my doctors put a limit on how much i could lift before something popped out of place and became irreversible damage 🥀🥀
