👂🏼 Do your ears feel blocked a lot? Mine do, so here’s something I love to do. I massage these three points in the dip in front of the ear. Open your mouth and you’ll feel a hollow between the tragus and the jaw. That’s where these three sit: Triple Burner 21 Small Intestine 19 Gallbladder 2 In Chinese medicine, these points and the channels around the ear are some of the first I was taught to reach for here. Massage gently, up and down, for around 60 seconds. You can use your fingers, or an acupressure tool like I’m doing here. Then sweep with your thumb from the front of the ear, behind the ear, and down the neck. As you come down, stay behind the sternocleidomastoid, the muscle that runs down the side of the neck, and avoid anything you can feel pulsing. Repeat on both sides. A little oil helps your hands glide over the skin. Constantly blocked ears can be a sign of too much phlegm in the body. There are lots of reasons for this, but I was taught it often traces back to the gut. The spleen and stomach move and transform our fluids, and when that process struggles, phlegm can build up and clog the sinuses, nose, and ears. Sound like you? Let me know in the comments. Educational content, not medical advice.
