“Why does my partner with dementia think I’m cheating on them?” This painful, confusing experience has a name: Othello syndrome, also known as delusional jealousy or infidelity delusions. It’s most common in Lewy body dementia, where visual hallucinations are also frequent — and the two can overlap in very real and distressing ways. It’s a neurological symptom of a changing brain.
