فاتورة الكهرباء تضاعفت! ماذا حدث؟ تراجعت ساعات التغذية من كهرباء لبنان إلى نحو 4 ساعات يوميًا فقط. وقد تتراجع أكثر، وصولًا إلى العتمة الشاملة. والمفارقة أنه في أواخر عام 2024 وبداية عام 2025، بدأ اللبنانيون يحلمون بتغذية تتراوح بين 9 و10 ساعات يوميًا من كهرباء الدولة. وذلك بفضل عقد الفيول مع العراق، إضافة إلى تحسن الجباية. لكن عقد العراق توقف. ويُقال إن الأسباب سياسية، بين شعارات «الممانعة» و«السيادة» وغيرها من العناوين النكدية الهدّامة. وحتى الآن، لا يوجد أي بديل فعلي للعقد العراقي، رغم كثرة الوعود والكلام الذي لم يُترجم إلى أفعال. أما المستفيد الأكبر، فهم أصحاب المولدات وتجار المحروقات. فتعرفة كهرباء لبنان تبلغ نحو 27 سنتًا للكيلوواط ساعة، بينما تصل كلفة كهرباء المولدات إلى نحو 60 سنتًا للكيلوواط ساعة، مع ارتفاع أسعار المحروقات. المواطن خسر خمس أو ست ساعات من كهرباء الدولة، وأصبح مضطرًا إلى شراء هذه الساعات من المولدات الخاصة. ولو كانت كهرباء لبنان هي التي تؤمن هذه الساعات، لبلغت كلفتها السنوية على المواطنين ما بين 600 و700 مليون دولار. أما اليوم، فقد ارتفعت الفاتورة إلى نحو 1.5 مليار دولار سنويًا، يدفعها المواطنون للمولدات الخاصة، فوق ما كانوا يدفعونه سابقًا. والنتيجة واضحة: كلما تراجعت التغذية من كهرباء الدولة، تضخمت أرباح أصحاب المولدات وتجار المحروقات. وهذه المنظومة توزع الأرباح على من يحميها، من أحزاب وزعامات وشبكات نفوذ. ويبدو أن ما يجري يدفع تدريجيًا نحو خصخصة قطاع الكهرباء. والخصخصة بحد ذاتها ليست عيبًا، لكن العيب هو أن تُترك كهرباء لبنان لتتحول عمدًا إلى مؤسسة منهكة، ثم تُباع أو تُفكك بأبخس الأثمان: جثة هامدة تنهشها الكلاب. Electricity bills have doubled! What happened? Electricité du Liban’s supply has dropped to around four hours per day. It could decline even further, leading to a nationwide blackout. Ironically, by late 2024 and early 2025, Lebanese citizens had begun hoping for 9 to 10 hours of state electricity every day. That was made possible by the fuel agreement with Iraq, along with improved bill collection. But the Iraqi fuel deal came to an end. It is said that the reasons are political, tied to slogans such as «Resistance» and «Sovereignty» and other destructive political narratives. So far, there is no real alternative to the Iraqi agreement despite repeated promises that have yet to become reality. The biggest beneficiaries are private generator owners and fuel traders. Electricité du Liban charges around 27 cents per kilowatt-hour, while electricity from private generators now costs around 60 cents per kilowatt-hour as fuel prices rise. Citizens have lost five or six hours of state electricity and are now forced to buy those hours from private generators. Had Electricité du Liban supplied those additional hours, the annual cost to citizens would have been between $600 million and $700 million. Instead, the bill has now climbed to around $1.5 billion per year, paid by citizens to private generator operators on top of what they were already paying. The result is clear: the less electricity the state provides, the greater the profits for generator owners and fuel traders. This system distributes those profits among the political parties, leaders, and networks that protect it. What is happening appears to be gradually pushing Lebanon toward the privatization of the electricity sector. Privatization itself is not necessarily the problem.
