I totally agree with the doctrine of Sola Fide and that we are saved by grace through faith, but I understand the tension on the subject. The tension lies in the fact that the bible seems to imply works are required over and over again. Jesus himself says "enter through the narrow gate", this statemrnt alone implies something is required of a person to be saved. "Deny yourself, pick up your cross daily and follow me" again strongly implies some kind of works are required of the believer. James said "faith without works is dead". So how do we resolve the paradox. I must admit I do struggle with this myself, because I am a staunch supporter of Sola Fide so the tension revolves around the word FAITH. What is faith, what does "believe" actually mean. People who truly believe will show real signs of belief, this is true. I suppose my issue is we ARE saved by faith, but that faith must be "evidenced by works", to show the faith is real. So no works = No Faith. So in some way works are sort of required as proof of belief, not for salvation purposes but validation. But the problem then is if there are no works, then there is no proof, so you won't be saved. So in some way works are tied into the final answer. I have rambled here and not even sure of my answer.

I am SO afraid that im lukewarm or not trully loving him or that I only follow him cus im scared of death. i read my bible daily I talk to him allot, I pray over the smallest stuff and I try my best to share his love and gospel but I am so so so scared that im not doing good. i dont want to follow him just because im scared of death. i want to LOVE him more and more. does anyone have advice or tips cus I really dont know what to do cus im so afraid he doesnt truly know me

Question, how do we know and be reborn? Do we read the Bible to learn more about his story and do we repent our sins because I have repented but I still feel like I’m living without Jesus and won’t make it to heaven to see him.
