the only time I was prepared for a sanderlanche (oathbringer) it ended up being the biggest, longest, and more dramatic sanderlanche I've read (I haven't finished RoW just yet)

First rule I learned when I started with Mystborn. Plan A NEVER works. And usually plans B and C don't either.

I never understood this “sanderlanche” I’ve read a few of his books and this “sanderlanches” aren’t any different then any other action packed scene from other authors that put them through out the book not just at the end. But that’s just me I guess

The sanderlanche isn’t just a sequence of action scenes, it’s a mountain of exposition, often during or in between action scenes that result in tons of different questions and plot point that you as a reader were supposed to be forming throughout the book. They all get resolved within the span of a couple chapters or one huge chapter and it comes out of no where. It’s a really satisfying pay off that all his books have, and once you’ve read a few of his books you can even recognize when he’s setting up the pins throughout the story just to knock them all down at once

I was reading The Way of Kings last night before bed and had about 60 pages left when I decided to stop reading because I knew something was about to go down and I was not awake enough for that 😅
