@newsroomza: South Africans are cutting subscriptions, medical spending and other household costs as the cost-of-living crisis continues to put pressure on their finances. A consumer study found that 40% of respondents were financially worse off than expected, while 79% listed inflation as one of their biggest concerns. Over the past three months, 28% cancelled subscriptions or memberships and 53% reduced spending on dining out, travel and entertainment. Around a third also expect to cut spending on medical care. Nearly four in ten respondents believe they will not be able to fully pay at least one bill or loan repayment in the next three months.
