Can’t you make your children a high priority without being obsessive? Bc my children are who I am but there is balance. The wording seems a bit off. They make me a better person and the same for my husband. Nobody is suffering. Idk I’ll never apologize for cherishing my kids lol

Sooo true! My parents always put their marriage first! Not that we were neglected in any sense but my dad would make sure no matter what, he had date night with my mom and spent time with her before us. They have the most loving and beautiful marriage still 44 years later because of this.It also created a loving environment where they were a total team and acted as “one”.

I love my kids and I want to enjoy my tilmr with them but the ultimate goal is for me to help them become a fully functional independent adult, and if I do that successfully then I will only be a small part of their life and therefore I have to also maintain my adult identity as well as I will have my life to finish living after they leave.

Even Disney shows the devouring mother. It is just as much her husbands fault for being emotionally unavailable to his wife so she latches on to her Son to fill the void making him her surrogate husband aka little man of her house. 💯💯💯
