I stopped calling others 3 years ago when I realized that I was doing all of the reaching out. it took 3.months for a cousin to call wanting to know what was wrong. Others I still haven't heard from.. People forget that phone line goes both ways. I craved closeness, love, family, etc. I still do, but I learned to live with me wanting more when they don't care either way. it doesn't hurt as much now. we have adult children 22, 20 that are still in the house. I am trying to let them adult on their own. Knowing they can come to us if they need guidance, but this isn't for the faint of heart.
