Aritzia Effortless pants are my go to for pickup if I wanna look dressy but casual. Other days I’ll wear jeans with NO rips and a heavy weight t-shirt. I drop off and pickup everyday so I always look nice 😭 but that’s also how I was raised. Hair done, sunscreen on!!!

One thing you’re forgetting to mention is that you are dressed modestly as well. After all, it is a place of Learning and more importantly you want your child to feel very comfortable when they see you walking around their school. Athletic wear is fine as long as it is modest and appropriate.

My dad wore dumpy gym shorts all year round (mind you, I lived in a place where it’s regularly below zero during the winter). It was so embarrassing one of my peers even took a picture and posted it on social media, which was awful on its own, but I wish my parents would have been just a bit more mindful of how they showed up. It made my life harder and it was already hard enough.

I think a lot of the outfit is also hair and skincare/ makeup. Messy/ dirty hair always ruins an outfit imo

I don’t take my child to school yet but we don’t leave the house unless we are put together! I honestly believe my strict dress code from elementary to high school made a huge difference in adulthood for me. Love your outfit! The jewelry always make a difference.

Yes! I have a toddler and even at dr appts (except if we’re all sick) and any therapies or other appts I make sure to try to look put together, even just well fitting jeans and a plain t shirt. It shouldn’t affect how authority figures view your child, but it DOES

People will say things like "I'll wear what I want I'm not trying to impress anyone" but a little tiny effort goes a long way. Kids don't want to be embarrassed by their parents bc you can't put on a pair of shoes or pants. We have plenty of other things to embarrass them about over the years! 😂
