@florance_s: The Guggenheim Bilbao museum is mind-blowing. No matter how many photos you have seen, nothing prepares you for the moment those titanium curves catch the light. It feels like a living sculpture that changes with every step, every cloud and every ray of sunshine. In the 1990s, the Basque city wanted to reinvent itself after the decline of its industrial economy. The Guggenheim became the centrepiece of an ambitious urban transformation, creating what is now known as the "Bilbao Effect" - a single cultural landmark capable of transforming an entire city. Frank Gehry wrapped the museum in around 33,000 ultra-thin titanium panels, combined with limestone and glass. The shimmering skin constantly changes colour depending on the weather, making the building feel different every single time you see it.
