They could have dragged out who her father is and revealed it later rather than at the beginning. Also I feel like they should have just made her the new media liaison and let her keep the job after Jj became a profiler instead of getting rid of the job entirely

see my issue with her is that the writers didn't let her be an enjoyable character, they tried too hard to make her Immediately interesting to replace JJ that I just couldn't sympathise with her because I didn't get a chance to start caring about her.

idk why people say she was jj’s replacement, when if they really wanted that, they would’ve immediately jumped on a seaver/reid ship or would’ve made spencer have a crush on her. they acted nothing alike, had different backstories. they just had the same hair color

Honestly she’s such an interesting character (there was that one weird line about her saying she ‘always thought serial killers were monsters’ which makes no sense with her background but whatever)

she was so essential to the shift of dynamics in the entire team because after five years, there was a brand new face and yet, none of them truly welcomed her, not even cut her some slack or gave her the benefit of the doubt. if it wasn't for her, they would have NEVER gotten our of their tunnel vision when rhe whole doyle situation was unfolding

When I was a kid watching the show I hated her because she replaced JJ. Watching it as an adult I actually like her and wish they didn't do her dirty and wished she didn't get as much hate as she got

As someone who WORSHIPS Criminal Minds and having Jj as their fav character, I never saw her as Jj’s replacement. Her and Jj were completely different other than the fact that they were both blondes and young in age compared to the victims they had to deal with in certain cases. She was a valuable asset to the team after Jj left bc she was literally a serial killer’s daughter so it’s easier to profile/understand other serial killers versus who was the team’s liaison/profiler/mother who’s only traumatic experience growing up was her sister’s suicide at a young age. Ashley’s dad killed 25 women before she was a teenager and since she was in the academy im pretty sure she dug DEEP into her father’s past and present to figure why her father did what he did despite having a daughter of his own who he had spent time with. Jj’s experience was different for sure and im pretty sure if Ashley had joined the BAU when Jj was around more, Jj would’ve been the best person for her to be around given how much of a mother Jj is and Ashley needed that kind of relationship fr. Everyone kind of treated her as just as asset for AWHILE besides Rossi
