Mus’ab ibn ʿUmayr رضي الله عنه embodied true sacrifice at the Battle of Uhud. He held the banner of Islam high, drawing the enemy’s attention to himself so they would attack him instead of the Prophet ﷺ. When his right hand was cut off, he held the banner with his left. When his left hand was severed, he continued holding it as best he could, refusing to let it fall. He remained steadfast until he was martyred, sacrificing everything for the sake of Allah.
