@diysquid: Well…we did it! 🤍🥹 I still don’t really know how to put all of this into words. But I can say without a doubt this was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. (Including childbirth. 😂 Dramatic? Maybe.) The long days, the chaos, the mistakes, the whiplash, the budget, being away from my kids, the deadlines, and the emotions were nonstop. We got lucky and you didn’t get to see all of our breakdowns. 😂 But it also became one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The friendships. (Carpenters and crew, I miss u.) The confidence. The reminder that I’m still Sydney… who also happens to be a mom. Leaving my kids was incredibly hard, but it reminded me that it’s okay to chase something that’s just for you once in a while. And I’m so proud (and honestly offended 😂) by how good they did. So thankful for a supportive husband and MIL who held down the fort while I was gone. Winning still feels unreal. We just…won, packed up, left, and were told to never speak of it again. 😂😂 NDAs, obviously. Every team created beautiful homes, and I have so much respect for all of them. To be honest, i almost felt guilty about winning. The other contestants poured their hearts into their homes, and it showed. They are the only people who truly know how much work went into this. We’ll forever be bonded by this experience. And lastly…you guys!! Your support these last seven weeks meant more than I can explain. Every comment, message, share, and every person convincing someone to watch HGTV to cheer on the Nebraska girls in overalls made a difference. 🤣 The haters are always the loudest, but you guys are pretty damn loud too. 🤍😉 From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here. This has been the craziest, hardest, and most rewarding adventure I’ve ever been part of, and it’s definitely bittersweet that it’s over. So the biggest question you might have is…would I do it again? …….maybe. 😂 We did it. ❤️ GO BIG RED! 🤪
