I learned how to befriend my future self. I started doing things to make her life a little easier. Doing the dishes so I woke up to a clean sink, setting out clothes for the next morning, I branched into meal prepping for myself so I didn't have to cook as often, and now it's helped me with my last minute packing struggles! Recently, I was completely ready for a trip 12 hours before we were supposed to leave I was so proud of myself. I would love to be more whimsical but challenging it through my logic side has helped me to knock off some of my bad habits. I even stopped biting my nails, I never thought I'd stop doing that one but here I am with longer cute natural nails 🥰
Also!! If you need more cowbell for a slow activity put on more screens/TV show/movies/music videos and you can mute them as you get overstimulated. I never do dishes without at least two screens going.

This sounds like my situation. I’ve spent my whole life in survival mode and have cptsd. Now my life is very quiet and settled and I’m struggling to adjust. I’m doing eft tapping, journaling, breathing exercises and mindful walking to help ground me. I now understand I need to calm my nervous system to feel safe to slow down. I take it one day at a time

Can I add that with visualization try to “feel” the feeling of the goal. Literally feel it pair the visual with the feeling. Adding an emotion (excitement, pride, accomplishment,joy) pull the feeling from a past experience this makes it real. Sprinkle in thinking of the thing like it has already happened. Then expect it to be yours cause it IS.
