I had surgery a week ago, and I’m already using a cane and walking on my own at times; so far, I’ve only taken acetaminophen.

I had my hip done last year no pain I was up and about two days later so I'm not sure why you're in so much pain but speedy recovery

Glad that you are not in that pain anymore. Demand better meds to get you over the hump. Don’t push, listen to your body if you can’t do PT yet. Rest and ice.

I feel better knowing you're in just as much pain as I was and I dont mean that in a mean way but I did watch all the videos where everyone seemed fine and that freaked me out so much ! Here's how my Dr explained my severe pain - he said when youre younger ( which you are ) that muscle in tour quad ( is that where your pain is ?) is bigger so its going to hurt more than someone who's elderly and/or has a smaller muscle . it gets kinda tied to the side in a torniquit. I also asked for better pain meds which I didnt get because he was outta office and by the time he got back I didnt need them. Each day it really will get better , I really didnt think it was going to cause youre right , ITS THAT BAD. Your 1st PT appointment should just be you establishing a baseline. No real exercises so dont be scared. And honestly, PT is pretty easy . they won't push you to a point that hurts. ❤️

The he oxycodone made me have a lot of hallucinations. I had to keep changing my prescriptions. But now I’m not taking anything now bc I keep getting sick of them. I learn that I have a leg lenght discrepancy so now that’s making me depressed

I’m sorry that you experienced pain! I walked out of the hospital day of replacement. Did you have anterior or posterior? I’m curious. I suggest “butt squeezes” sounds weird. But helps in the long run.

Yup.. I went on myself for the first couple of weeks. I couldn’t get to the bathroom on time I was so slow.. it was very upsetting. I kept up with my pain meds my pain was like a 7 or 8. I am 9 weeks post op and I’m back at work and 90% back to normal. All the pain was so worth it! It will get better I promise. Hang in there you have a long healing road ahead of you. You got this!

Crazy question did they give you tramadol? Oxy did nothing but tramadol worked for me. And as weird as it sounds those litlle foot exercises and ankle rotations help. Did you have anterior or posterior?

Hang in there. I’m two weeks out and had the same. They gave me TraMADol and it worked for me, maybe ask about that!? But definitely tell them if the pain isn’t better!
