The main reason I still drive my old beat-up 18-year-old car with 135k+ miles? My tires are worn out, and honestly, I could afford a newer ride if I wanted to. But these days people are stealing wheels and tires left and right. You can't have nice things anymore without worrying about someone taking them.

Happened to us 3 months after we bought our 23’ Honda Pilot. We turned in the surveillance footage to the police and all they said was to report it to the insurance company. Yellow crate crew drives around a black Honda Odyssey, 3-4 guys to do the job in a matter of minutes. Such a shame, people can’t have nice things anymore!
