I told the caller I'd go into a local branch instead. Thank gawd. The bank had no idea about what i told them, but they changed my accounts anyway.

I had something VERY similar happen to me within the last year. I saw the 🚩🚩🚩🚩 hung up and called my bank directly to verify. They issued a new card just to be safe.

This almost happened to me. The caller almost had me convinced but something he said made me stop so I told him I would call him back at the center bank number. He tried to stop me but I hung up. When I called the bank, there was no such person and my account was safe.

they don't even need to be a data collector. They could be some disgruntled employee from almost anywhere that you shop with that information. Never give information to somebody that calls you, hang up and call your bank yourself.

I got one just like this. Took me about 5 min to figure it out. When they said google them, I knew they were bogus. Then I continued to see where it would go. kept them going for another 20 min until my next meeting. Said sorry..I have to go and they freaked out. I laughed at them and hung up. 😁

Always have multiple bank accounts, different banks , the bank will never call you, never put your eggs in one basket when it comes to your money, the bank can protect you to 250 k with certain condit
