Isabel, my dog was 12 when she got this diagnosis and I got some great advice. A friend said don’t mourn her while she’s still here because it will lessen your pleasure of having her. Celebrate the days with Simon and he will feel your positive energy. My beautiful girl lived 2 more years.

I got barely 3 days between diagnosis and putting my dog down. It haunts me and broke me. But now I adopted a new rescue dog thanks to you and Simon and the grief occupies my time less and less.

I cry at least once a week because my dog will die at some point. Other than her being old I have no reason to think it’s soon. This has also been a thing the entire time I’ve had her. So you take your daily cry!
