@inventionontt: Original Video Credit: IG/armadillo.3814773 An enormous injection mold is cycling through its ejection sequence without any plastic inside, revealing the intricate network of moving components normally hidden inside production tooling. Every pin, lifter, and sliding mechanism must move in perfect synchronization before the mold enters service. During a dry cycle test, hydraulic or pneumatic force drives the ejector plate forward, pushing hundreds of ejector pins outward while angled lifters retract undercuts that would otherwise trap the molded part. The system is then returned to its starting position, allowing engineers to verify smooth movement, precise travel, and accurate alignment. Testing molds this way helps prevent costly production downtime and damage once they are installed in high-tonnage injection molding presses. Complex tooling like this is commonly used to manufacture large automotive, appliance, and industrial plastic components where reliability and repeatability are essential. Each one of those actuators (shapes on form) can extend and receed in any combination to make different mold patterns.
