I have a true sql build. the secret is a DSP. every speaker has dedicated frequencies. every speaker is time aligned to meet the ear at the exact same millisecond. I sit at 120 db in my front stage, and 143 (@35hz) on the sub. match the front stage and sub db levels, and voila, sql.

You could also run a powerful setup tuned at a lower volume for smooth bass
