it kills me so bad how yamanaka seemed to be making a point to humanise john, justify his reasoning even if his actions were objectively awful, all leading up to his role as a protector — which would actually make sense if mikoto was suffering from constantly triggered stress. Leading up to the idea of subverting a common stereotype of alters…… ALL that potential just for it to be that he was protecting from literally nothing, killing 12 randos on the streets.
