Flew JAL Business Class from Seoul to Chicago and it completely changed how I think about long haul flights. The seat converts to a fully flat bed and feels more like a private pod than a typical business class seat. Middle seats have a privacy window rather than a door, while window seats get a little entry hallway leading out to the aisle for even more separation from the rest of the cabin. The amenity kit is a collaboration with Heralbony, a Japanese brand that partners with artists with disabilities, and it comes packed with noise canceling headphones, slippers, a toothbrush kit, eye mask, and ear plugs. I actually skip the wired headphones JAL provides and bring my own Bluetooth adapter instead so I can use my own headphones cordless for the whole flight, linked in my bio if you want the same setup. The charging cord included converts for different phone types, which is such a small detail but I have not seen that in other airline amenity kits. The bathrooms are stocked with additional toothbrushes and mouthwash throughout the entire flight, so you can freshen up whenever you want. Pro tip, ask your flight attendant for a mattress pad in addition to lying the seat flat. It makes a massive difference in comfort and I slept for hours on this flight. They also offer a cozy cardigan sweater to wear instead of just a blanket. Dining service includes a multi course meal with tea service, and green tea is served after each meal to help with digestion. The food was excellent across the board, including for my kids and my own meal even with dietary restrictions. The best part of the whole flight was being able to order food and drinks from the personal remote in between the two main meal services, so you are never just waiting around hungry. Overall the service from the Japanese flight attendants was outstanding from takeoff to landing.
