@officialinspiredbystave: Losing the most important person in my life in 2008, Marilyn when I was only 16 years old, forced me to grow up far too soon. The woman I knew as my “Ma”—my grandma—will forever be my mom in my heart. My life changed forever the day I lost her, and I’ve carried her love and lessons with me every step of the way. For so many years, I’ve dreamed of being recognized as a public figure and a pillar in my community. Since 2009 through 2019 , after losing some of my childhood friends and family, I realized I had to become a voice for people who couldn’t always speak for themselves during some of the hardest moments of their lives. I need to pop my shit for a second. 🥹💙 This isn’t a paid verification badge—this is something I earned through years of hard work, consistency, and never giving up on my purpose. I fought for this moment for years, and Twitter finally verified me. I’m literally crying tears of happiness. To receive recognition on a platform I’ve been using since middle school means more than words can describe. Coming from where I was in life to the person I’ve become today makes this moment incredibly emotional. Thank you so much @Twitter for your support. People laughed at my dreams. They doubted me. But I never stopped believing in myself or the vision God placed on my heart. I kept showing up. I kept serving my community. I kept speaking up for others, even when it wasn’t easy. Back in 2016, when President @ @The Obama Foundation for recognized me for my community work, it reminded me that I really was making a difference. That recognition fueled me to keep going, and today is another reminder that hard work, resilience, and purpose truly pay off. To everyone who’s ever believed in me—thank you. And to anyone chasing a dream that feels impossible, don’t quit. Keep going. Your time will come. This moment means everything to me.
