This is why I prefer bikes over scooters- I was in san Fran and Seattle and I didn’t see the pot hole and went flying!! And most ones you rent don’t have a helmet attached like the bikes do. They are so unstable unless the ground is completely flat

I just saw a lime scooter rider cross boundary, near kingsway, not at an intersection, just randomly on the busy road and didn’t even look both ways. Cars from BOTH directions slammed their brakes and even stopped after the scooter guy rode past because everyone was in shock. There were about 6 cars all stopped and we all looked at each other like “holy sh**, what an idiot!”. Not gonna lie, if ANY of the drivers weren’t paying attention for a split second, that scooter guy would’ve been dead.

They should have their own licensing and standardization process, they are very dangerous at high speeds and the turning radius is awful.

I used the lime scooters for 5 days in Orlando. Obviously I was careful but yea it could get dangerous. lol I tried it bc sober in Nashville lol bad first attempt. Now I can’t anymore. God gave me cancer and I’m paralyzed

In Quebec, it’s the law to wear a helmet when using an electric vehicle - e-scooter/bike etc. You also must be 18+ in order to ride them.

A girl I know in east Vancouver, smashed her jaw from an e-scooter fall, fractured it, & had to get stitches. blood everywhere. You could see the bone.

There was a guy riding one of these at full speed on the sidewalk on Seymour. I had just stepped out of a restaurant when he came flying by, missing me by inches. He was so close to the entrance that everyone nearby stopped to check if I was okay. I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if he had hit me at that speed. Also, even he must’ve thought it was a close call because he tried to brake and stop, but he was going so fast that he ended up way down the sidewalk before he could. He turned around and kept looking back at the crowd that had gathered around me.
