My 4 year old child was talking about a “digger” once from a show and this 10 year old thought it would be funny to say “HE SAID *igger!” It was 100% the most mortifying moment of my life. He did it on purpose. 🫥

Ok I mostly agree. However as your kids get older you do start to give them some freedom to explore places in public without hovering directly over them or being within earshot every moment . My kids are great but as they get that freedom they can sometimes test the waters and occasionally they say or do dumb shit. Not bc they’re bad or underparented, but bc they’re testing boundaries or over excited or whatever it may be. I fully support someone stepping in to correct what’s inappropriate as they learn and grow if I’m not right there in the moment.

I had an extremely similar experience at Thinkery in the chicken coop! My little girl was completely steam rolled.

My best friend of 15 years decided not to be my friend anymore because I disciplined her son who she had left me in charge of while she ran an errand. I overheard him tell my son something he had made was a "piece of shit" so I explained to this boy that he was not going to use that language or be rude on my watch. Some parents just want to raise awful humans.

I am often getting the stunned look from other kids who exhibit behavior that I interrupt. They’re like “who me?” I do get a little nervous though that the other parents might be nuts but usually I can give kids a look that will redirect lol
