I want a 15k adjustment. They not ready for that conversation. Companies love to lowball us accountants

I did this at my previous place of employment after three months. I told the supervisor went I underestimated my value when I accepted the salary offered. He agreed and increased my salary by $10,000. When I left after my third year, my salary had increased by $32,500 from my original starting salary. Sometimes we get lucky and have managers that recognize our value.

I came with receipts of my value. included all of my accolades and great feedback. They played in my face for 3 weeks just to tell me No

i could get cancelled for this but…this is why i hate being in a union. the amount times i could have negotiated my salary up for outperforming everyone in my department is so frustrating

That’s so interesting. Especially reading a few more of these comments. I’ve never once in my life asked for a raise so I don’t know how that conversation would even start.

My husband was just offered a job, negotiated and asked for 10k more annually. They appreciated him so much for standing his ground that they counter offered 20k more

You did this very maturely. I brought in another job offer and said if you can’t match it I’m gone…

I asked for a 15% raise once and got 9% then a few months later the other 8%. I ended up leaving because I was offered 33% more than where I ended at, but my first company was good to me when they could be.

How much adjustment were you asking for? Our typical annual review is 3% was it comparable to that?
