Every year, our family rents one big vacation house and spends a week together. There are sandy feet, grandchildren climbing into bed for morning snuggles, late-night card games, and memories that somehow become family stories before the week is even over.  But feeding 19  people for a week doesn't happen by accident. Over the years, I've learned that a little planning before we leave makes all the difference once we arrive. My goal isn't to spend vacation cooking.  It's to make sure everyone can relax, eat well, and enjoy themselves without constant grocery runs, takeout, or wondering what's for lunch. Before we leave, I make everything I can ahead of time. Anything that travels well, reheats beautifully, or simply makes life easier gets checked off my list at home. Once we're there, every family takes a turn making dinner, which has become one of our favorite vacation traditions.
