I agree with everything as a momma who had 1 medicated baby 1 no meds and 1 c section and I got up within 45mins to 1 hour and just moved walk to the bathroom. My daughter however her 1st they wouldn't allow her to move for 18 hours and her recovery was rough

I’m really surprised that you 1) had staples and 2)that you liked them. As someone who first assists mainly in ortho but does general call (OB and general surgery) I’ve only ever stapled one c section incision. It was an urgent case where the patient needed to be sent to a higher level of care ASAP. Also, yes, if it isn’t an urgent or emergent case, ask about the scar revision. It is quick and makes it easier to close (thoughts from a person who typically does subq and skin closure in c sections)

I just had my first c section almost 2 weeks ago and the actual procedure itself was beautiful and amazing. The recovery has been physically and mentally hard but doable and I feel like I have 85% of my mobility and basically no pain anymore! ❤️

Wait I wish I new about the removing skin option for a new scar!! My first scar healed amazing, now this second one I can tell has a lot more scar tissue built up

Mine was an emergency C-sec and although I felt like crap straight after, I forced myself to get up and walk the same afternoon. I went home the next day and every day, I got more and more physical. Was driving within 2 weeks and it just heeled perfectly. I agree, the early you start moving, the better!

Two c sections and not one person/medical professional ever told me about wearing a binder or something to hold my stomach together after and my muscles and stomach are so messed up and separated ☹️

Belly bands are very outdated! They increase the risk of prolapse and abdominal muscle weakness that’s very hard to fix!

Went in for a Hysterectomy because of Basketball size cyst. I was going to do a robotic procedure, but ended with a C-section scare because of the cyst being so large. My OBGyn compared the cyst to a 6 month old baby. So, glad the provider did a C-section scare. very low on the abdomen and hardly able to see 3 years out. Definitely recommend to keep the body, it helps with a quicker recovery.

Based on how you explained your incision and seeing the hospital you delivered at I’m 100% convinced we had the same surgeon at the same hospital. He’s absolutely amazing and had done my sisters c sections, first first baby and will be doing mine again here in a few weeks!!

I didn’t even realize that my doc removed my old scar until you said that. My first one was a little jagged and had a keloid, but my second is perfect. What Lindsay said! Get up and move asap! You will thank her later. I didn’t with my first and the gas that they inflate you with got trapped in my shoulders. That was the worst part of my recovery. Second time I was moving as soon as I could feel my legs.
