We are trying to switch to be more mindful of how we use things. I mainly use paper towels for absorbing grease and oil so they don’t go down my sink. Is there an alternative that I just haven’t thought of for this?

Sorry, but, people are so dense! A single-use item will never be better than something you can reuse many times. Even your house water (including toilet water) get cleaned and reused. And, can we stop with bacteria and disinfecting every damn thing?! Most bacteria isn't bad, people. And, we need it to keep building our immune systems. The best way to prevent spread of illnesses is to wash your hands! The CDC says don't use antibacterial soap. Regular soap works just fine because soap, water and scrubbing removes germs.

We dont have big ails like that for paper towels in Europe as far as I know. Haven’t seen it in any country I’ve been to.

honestly, single use items for everyday use arent common here. sure, we have a roll of paper towels, but they are mainly used as napkins. we use dish towels to dry our dishes and we wipe the counters etc with the dish cloths I crochet myself. I see videos of Americans using paper plates and plastic utensils for everyday use instead of a regular plates etc and that concept is wild to me.

I love supporting small creators ❤️all jokes aside, paper towels genuinely are useless now that I’ve switched over to dish rags 😭 I only use them to clean up pee from my foster kittens.

I don’t know if people know this. But a lot of countries outside of America don’t use paper towels, I personally use tea towels, also many countries don’t use dryers. We use washing lines outside and most houses come with one

i think outside of usa no one uses paper towels as towels... here in brazil we use it like napkins, we only use rags for wiping surfaces. it's crazy when i see free waste content and see things about paper towels, i get so confused

Honestly, i dont really use paper towels unless i gotta like wipe my hands while eating. Otherwise i use a dishrag or "disktrasa"🇸🇪 to wipe counters. They are reusable and extremely absorbent.

People just like hating for no reason tbh I like doing eco friendly stuff mainly repurposing garbage I like grabbing mayonnaise lids that are gonna go to the garbage and turn em into guitar picks and I just use any similar plastics 2

The amount that kitchen roll is used in the US is wild compared to here in the UK for example. They’re expensive and as a kid they’d be treated as such! 😂 I probably go through 1 roll a month, and definitely not for wiping down my sides, that feels excessive.

we try to be as zero waste as possible but we still have paper towels for really yucky stuff, like when the cats throw up. we almost never use them, but it's definitely a myth that ppl don't use paper towels

a couple years ago our family switched from paper towels to reusable ones and you don’t realize how much money and resources you waste until you switch we were replacing them almost daily it was insane! (family of 5)
